Duet: Czeslaw Milosz & Hazrat Inayat Khan (I do believe both are tenors)

Dependence belongs to matter
and independence to spirit.
The independent spirit becomes dependent through manifestation.
When the One becomes many, then each part of the One,
being limited, strives to be helped
by the other part,
for each part finds itself
imperfect.

Therefore we human beings,
however rich
with the treasures of heaven and earth,
are poor in reality because
of our dependence upon others.
The spiritual view makes one conscious
of this fact, but the material view
blinds man, who then show independence
and indifference to his fellow man.

Pride, conceit and vanity
are the outcome of this ignorance.

There are moments when even the king has to depend
upon a most insignificant person.

. . . . .

As individuals depend upon other individuals,
so nations and races depend upon
one another.
No individual can say that he can geet on without anyone else,
and no nation can be really happy
while another nation is unhappy.

But both individuals and communities depend most
upon God, in whom we all unite.

(Hazrat Inayat Kahn The Unity of Religious Ideals)

a pinch of the imperfect (an imperfect channelling)

*

"If the entire human species were a single individual, that person would long ago have been declared mad. The insanity would not lie in the anger and darkness of the human mind—though it can be a black and raging place indeed. And it certainly wouldn't lie in the transcendent goodness of that mind—one so sublime, we fold it into a larger "soul." The madness would lie instead in the fact that both of those qualities, the savage and the splendid, can exist in one creature, one person, often in one instant."  (Jeffrey Kugler, "What Makes Us Moral?" Time Magazine 3 March 2007)

This is a difficult concept to grasp,
that we are two in one,
we, the human occupying the human
body
are two in one --
we each contain the
ability
to be good
to be bad
all at the same time,
we
all
are
two, and the two we contain
are the imitation
of the part of God
that became manifest
as the moment of the splitting,
the splitting being
the physical act God
had to produce
             in order
to be able to reproduce
Himself.

God had to split
in half, into
the negative and the positive,
in order to see:
                 the positive
                       is what She saw,
the glorious, succulent
material present

that is what God saw:
the visual, the
aural, the
tactile,
the
sensual, the
aromatic,
all that IS
is what God saw:

all that IS
is good is bad
is what God saw

So . . . . .  .

if God saw the all that he created,
and it was good,
what in heaven's name was doing the seeing?
WHAT saw it all,
and WHAT was glad?

What did the seeing was always that
which could not be seen,
the negative,
the negative -
the negative !
the other side of the
dichotomy,
in Derridean terms:

MALE                     FEMALE
positive                  negative
light                    dark
day                       night
spoken                           silent
visible                        invisible

We live in the realm of the visible,
of the male,
but it was our opposite -
that was there
but not there
to view the creation
and to be amazed by it.

Ever since the onset of the Renaissance
(when Makropoulos was
born,
by the way)
that glorious time
when the mind had evolved to a more mature
level of being able to reproduce
itself,
ever since then,
the trend
has been to focus
on the male:
the physical manifestion
that god produced in order to be able
to see Herself --
and hey
wouldn't you want to fixate
on that for awhile?
wouldn't you want to fixate on that
fabulous something
that you created
in order to see
yourself?
Imagine it:
here you are,
you are invisible and
undivisable,
and you just created
something visibly
you,
you gave yourself
the opportunity to see
yourself
in the mirror
wouldn't you want
to look at it
for a thousand years
or so?

Wouldn't you want to see it,
just turn it over and over
in your hands
and adore it?

It would be
your perfect opposite,
your mythic soulmate:
there you'd be
and you would be so amazed
at the beauty of it,
you would gaze into it,
get lost in it.

(Mirrors have been the replacement for
the absence of the Others;
they've been here to keep us
company, and to let us know
what we look like, so
when we see our other halves,
we'll recognize them.)

So that was the moment
of splitting,
the moment
of making visible
ourselves,

that was it - the first act that all
creation has been doomed
ever since
to repeat and represent.

Every physical entity on earth
contains within it an imitation
of that moment of splitting

The sperm (the physical
projectile born
of the desire to
see and be with the
Other
                (so completely),
yes the sperm is
the physical imitation of the desire
to enter into
the engulfing presence
of the engenderer.

(if you can figure that one out,
you get a gold star---)

* * *

because the Other to the physical creation
is so Beautiful
that the physical creation
wants, immediately
to penetrate and become
part of it again.

Something like that.
)

Every physical entity on earth
contains within it an imitation
of that moment of splitting

Indeed, that includes
the human,
the creature doomed
to strut and fret
our time upon this stage,

we, our body-avatars,
and the trinity
of liquidity
we each contain
are all the imitation
of what god produced and saw
at that moment of dividing
in half,
              but the problem,
as Isaac Luria helps us see,
was that the creation
of the duplication
of God produced
such a force
[the power of God]
made manifest
         at the moment
              of this production,
there was such an explosion,

( baylor )

like fireworks,

 That

is the manifestation
of the power
of

GOD

I'm serious.

. . . . and at the moment of the bang,
everything
became visible
physical,
ie:
it was created.

(It's that simple!)

 So, anyway,
at that mment of explosion and
production,

the negative,              the positive
the unseen,                     the seen,
the unheard                        the heard
the unfelt,                 the felt
came to be.

it's that simple,
those concepts
and all they signify
came to be
be
cause
of creation
and the creative urge.

So we live in the physical realm, because that's the
half of God we
occupy,
but
that doesn't preclude
the existence of the
non existent.

It's just there,

and all that it (the non-existent) contains
is the negative
of the totality
that is the manifest
in
the physical.
(That's a hard concept to grasp
when you live in the physical.)

But as I said,
the problem
                        and the beauty
                 of it all
is that each of us
contains
an imitation
of that doubling
to one extent or the other.

So Luria helps me say: god created
the imitation of
god, male and female
so they could see
themselves,
but the energy produced at that
moment
was too great
for the illusion,
the representation
to remain while,
so it exploded and shattered
into pieces
and the pieces
got the unenviable job
of picking up the pieces
and having to put them back
together
again.

And that's what we've been doing
for millenia,
and god
in Her distant place, delighted
at the delightful games
of Her children BUT
got disturbed if the Boys
got too rough

*

please think semiotically

*

ANYWAY,
all species also imitate
the duality and the moment
of creation
and the Desire
to Reproduce,
over and over because
that desire
and compulsion
has maintained
our existence

giving us
time
to evolve
our minds,
our souls,
our spirits
our goods and our evils,
all the intangible
invisible
entities that
the frail human body
was appointed
to contain and sustain in
the delicate cases
we encase:
our brains,
our hearts,
our solar plexus,
our stomachs, which provide
the protective shield for containing
the unprotectable.

Our fingers,
our ears,
our eyes
represent
the fingers,
ears,
eyes
of God
 made manifest
at the moment when We
confronted
our eact opposites,
those which contains
our good and our bad,
we,
who contain
God's essences
     imitate
that moment of looking, too,
which also includes the moment
of being disappointed
because our Other
our Creation
isn't perfect,
wasn't perfect,
won't be perfect,
won't be Us
completely
because if God's
Other Half
was perfect,
God wouldn't be able to see it,
because He would be it.

that's right :

we wouldn't have to divide ourselves
in an attempt to see
ourselves
if we didn't contain
a pinch

of the imperfect.

Oh, now you,
dear reader who dared
to make it this far,
you wonder:
where the hell is this going?

As I sit and read this,
I know what it says.
It says:
I even I
with my changeable moods,
my unchartable soul,
my angry temper
my fits of elation
and tearful, lonely evenings
I contain
an imitation
of God at the moemnt
tHEy
(male and female)
let the pinch of imperfection
influence itself and deicde
to divide
so it could see itself

I imitate that moment
of god's self-consciousness,
and imitate
the entity he saw,
the entity that was
too great
to be whole,
so it exploded
and became
the scattered remnants
of the visible
             reproduction of God--

and the shattering, glimmering parts of the fractured god
regrouped
 - so to speak -
and became
planets and stars
and plants and animals
all
species,
all with our different task,
as we have worked together over the ages,
striving to reproduce the whole,

and humans had the job
of building the connections ,
and over time we have evolved
and we have reached
a
near perfect
connection

I can sit in my living room and see and talk to
in real time
a friend of mine
in Singapore.

We're so close to being the complete unity
we're supposed to be
but we have
one problem:

we each still feel we're different from each other.

We are at a cusp.

We each have to recognize
that in our individual selves
though we reproduce both parts of god,
still,
within our individual selves
we can really only contain
half,
and somewhere there
is the Other
half of us
with whom,
when we're together
we produce a melting
into One, just One

this applies equally to
individuals,
families,
states,
nations,
worlds. . . .

*

And you see we each
have to recognize
and admit
that in containing
the parts of god, we must
also contain god's opposite,
which is
evil
because evil is something
God created,
so we would all know good.

God is all,
and so are we,
but we
just happen to be
fractured all,
the physical part of God
that God produced
when God felt the desire
to see
the self.

Do we want to See God
in our time?
Well, you know,
the only way we can do that
is to act like the gods
we were born to be,
which means
we need to recognize
that the man and the woman
the most opposite
of ourselves
is one essential piece
in the visible puzzle
of the perfect picture
of the product of god.

We need
to forgive ourselves
our faults
and forgive our
brothers their faults
and forgive the Others:
the dark,
the female,
the strange,
the silent,
as they must do
unto us.

It's that flippin' easy.

Jesus said it too,

but he was rendered a sound bite.

Still,
his message
never changed.

The most essential part
of this simple task is
that we must be honest
with ourselves
first,
and see our flaws,
and once we honestly
acknowledge
the wrong we ourselves
have committed or contemplated,
we can also look past
what we view
as the wrongs in others.

I'm not saying we should get rid
of our negative impulses.

We can't.

But we should acknowledge
them,
live with them,
find
an arena in which we can
act on them
so no one gets hurt
and get on with the task
of saving our earth,

that is,
if we do indeed enjoy this joy ride we've been on
enough
to want to see it survive beyond
the next step
in our evolution.

The Scholar: A Channelling

. . . . and so it begins
the horrendous roller coaster
treadmill of the academic
year
Some people think college professors
have it made,
but honestly
these days
that isn't true.

( Shelah )

Of course, there are those
tenured faculty, who
admired what appeared to be the easy life
of their
English Professor,
in the 1970's,
and perhaps it was
easy
in its way.

But like a child who admires his father's
authority,
the students who envisions and envies
his professor's
solitary ease,
imitates it, and
imitates it with exaggeration.
After all, the child doesn't see the work
that goes into
apparent ease.

So, yes, there are
professors today
who are very, very
lazy, and then
there are those who do
their jobs, which means
when September hits, so too does their
4-4 or 5-5
teaching load
hit
the fan and splatter
and so begins. . .
the meetings and the committees and
the papers and the
                  Task Forces
designed by administrators
with literature Ph.D.s
who are either more cunning
or more beguiling
or more corrupt
than the menial faculty.
And the duties they design
so urgently
will become passe
when they move away
in a year or two
to a seaside experimental College
not too far from Berkeley.

( Bowman )

Yes, so it begins,
and I
a faculty
member
spawned by hardworking mentors
begin my struggle:

my mind gets cluttered
with a multitude of tasks
designed to appeal
to my well-meaninged
intentions,
designed to quell my cantankarous
ruminations.

All week long I trudge
from day to day
from paper, to paper,
pursuing these days
when my brain, so full
of mutterings
can spill
on this miserable page.
With a little help
from my friends, I squeeze
the chatter
into oblivion, for a time
when time gallops
forward, and so does
my pen, just barely
fast enough
to capture the moaning voices
of captives in my head
my head
the cave
the cave
where perhaps exists a
universe just like
the one we live in,
and the great mind
that fashions the wheel
that spins around a glowing
center in this world
is mine.  And somewhere
on a planet circling that star
in my mind
                                         lives me, struggling to see
                                 the meaning of it all.

The savior of the world
in my own mind is me,
and if I can just be true
to me
everything will be all right.

 - - - ) ) ) ( ( ( - - -

This is where the current
academy
comes in:
it is designed to detain
the minds of men
and women
from themselves.

It was designed by men
living inside their own heads
100 years or so
ago,
and it worked for awhile,

But not anymore, as the
master brain evolves to meet
the God-Brain,
the ways of that mind
that Old old mind
will no longer fit the bill.

Jesus will come as the scholar
in the 4 days of the grid,
in the
Age of the Grid
at the exact
point of juncture
where & when
women &  men
realize
The Messiah is the mind that
unites us,
the point
of agreement
and acceptance
and forgiveness.

It's so easy
that it's hard, the hardest
thing in the world
to do.

Most people would just
laugh
and say:
it's the stupidest
most asinine
idea, and no way
could it happen:

what could happen:

humans would advance to the point
where they could all
we could all
just look each other
in the eye
and just
stop
fighting
              just
stop
demanding
notoreity
or equality,
because
If we all stopped fighting,
stopped hating,
started communicating

we'd all be equal.

That's right:
suddenly,
we would all
be
equal.

Jesus will come as the Scholar
in the 4 Days of the Grid:
in earlier entries
I've contemplated
who Jesus was
       or is,
and mostly,
what the Grid is,
but have I spoken of the scholar?

The scholar is the greatest
any man can be,
recognizing that scholar
-ship
means reaching the highest
intellectual potential
one can reach
on the subject that one
is born to be best at;
therefore;
one can be a scholar
in their taxi, or a
scholar delivering mail,
or a scholar
teaching infants,
or a scholar
in jail.
Just as long as the mind
that God gave you,
that absolute
 organ
made in His likeness,
just as long as you are true
to its greatest potential,
you, too,
                are part of

Jesus rising.

- - - ( ( ( ) ) ) - - -

Jesus will come again
as the Scholar
to the scholars
when the 4 points unite:
the East
the West
the North
the South
at the moment of the juncture
when the eye of God
gazes directly
at the mind of Man
through the only aperture
in the heavens
that makes this possible:

by the way,
it's a mirror
in the mind
of God:
that's the ticket,
that's the 2-way street,
the moment of Reflective Practice
when God reflects
on himself:

and when he does, we
are the image he sees:

We happy Three
We Trinity.

Is this a joke?
Is this a drug induced
harangue?
Or is it
a channelling,
a message
from the galaxy
inside of me
that is really
my point of entry to
the entirety
of the almighty.

Don't think too hard.
Just ride that trai
and if you fall off,
don't fret
there's always another.

But if you're wondering the date and time
of this miraculous
mirror gazing:
it would be
some time in the 12th month
of the year
2012.

22 June 2010

No, Well, Probably Three

hiya

now in the last entry,
I contemplated how a given channelling body
can channel more than one personality,
probably three,
maybe more.

I know I have at least three who are
pretty damned strong.

Are any of them me?

(insert my name as it is known on this earthly plane, which,
quite frankly,
just isn't that important.)

No.
Not a single damned one of them can claim that name.

They are all other spirits
working through my
earthly avatar
and the difference
between me
and you
is that I acknowledge
that not one single aspect
of the combination of forces
that exist within me
is dominant:
they are all equal,
and their primary job
on earth is to find a way
whereby they can function
as equals.

The only way is by using the mind,
that tool in our Avatar
that we were given,
which has the power
to balance our disparate differences.

I mean, honestly, why not?

It seems the most economical way to do it, after all.

Imagine all the fragmented,
fractured
personalities that resulted
from the shattering of the glass
at the beginning of time

-- that nasty old reflecting surface, that mirror --
(to understand this more, please see my earlier entries on the mirror
and palindromes)

We've gone through time
piecing them together,
trying to find the perfect balance --

(each couple, indeed, could be channeling
up to at least eight personalities,
maybe more,
that have to be absolutely in harmony
in order for the couple
to be happy.)
I'm going back to non-italics:
if you can,
read these sections first,
then go back to the italics,
because that's how my mind works:

So, imagine this:
our bodies are avatars =
containers that carry
the multiple dimensions
of the aspect
of God
which is perfect.

It's funny, because
in the movie
Avatar
there was only one
person
per
avatar;
however,
don't you think that,
given the expense of the technology,
and given
the rise in group think
in our society
even Americans would see the logic
of putting more than one personality
into on avatar --

that's right:
if the USofA
developed the technology
of the avatar and decided
(as in the movie)
to get to know
another nation or creation,
you'd be damned sure you wouldn't get
an avatar to yourself:
it's neither cost conscious,
nor effective.

Indeed, folks working
in avatars
would have to learn to work together,
in small groups
wherein the personalities all
have different,
complimentary
strengths.
That would make maximum use of the technology.

 . . . . .
I mean, seriously,
how many space flights had
only one man on board?

And for the ones that did only have one man,
did they get very far?

This is not to say that we don't need those rebels,
those daredevils who dare
to go first,
but when it comes right down to getting bigger jobs done,
yes, even America has come to realize
you need more than one.

(NO!
I'm not being a communist:
just look at it;
we - the USofA - are very clearly promoting
the group:

(Google meeting pods designed after Antarctic expedition igloos
found at:

in-class presentations,
working environments,
everything ----is moving
towards privileging
groups over individuals
so why do we get so upset
over the idea of
a government that acknowledges
that the health of the group
is at least as important as the health
of the individual?

Huh?

Or a government style that feels that
promoting collective solutions
can be more productive than
individual solutions?

I went off track to point out that,
one of the primary flaws in
the logic of the American system is that
it places far too much importance
on the individual, even as it is
acknowledging, more and more
that the best solutions are
collective solutions.
Very rarely do we experience
 a genius,
and I'm about to propose an explanation
as to why that so rarely happens:

So imagine this:
Imagine that when we are not in our bodies,
we are in another form -
a spiritual form,
that is nearly perfect,
except for the fact that it
was kind of broken
at the beginning of time.

That's right,
the entity we embody
when we are not in our bodies
is not God;
it is the representation of God
and it was created
at the beginning of time,
and
it was kind of broken,
by God, who (if you remember
my earlier entries, on the Creation,
etc. . . .follow the key words)
in a moment of weakness,
had the crazy idea
that He wanted
to create something that was exactly
the same
as Him.

That's right:
why the hell did God
want to create something in his own likeness
If he was everything?

I mean:
seriously, folks,
if God is everything
he has no fucking reason
to want to create
something
beyond himself.

come on!
Let's be serious,
now.

but he did

And the reason why God felt the desire
to see himself,
was because:
He is Everything.
And part of everything is:
desire,
lust,
greed,
jealousy,
power,
subserviance,
dominance
desire
desire
desire
desire

So at the moment when God experienced
a preponderance of Desire,
(because God, being God, goes in cycles,
trying out the various aspects
of everything
at regular intervals)
He produced Us.
So He could look at Us.
Because we are all
part of Him.
We, combined,
are the mirror image
of God,
which -
don't forget
- is Everything.

Humankind is the
ongoing experimen
to reproduce
the perfect mix
that is God
so we can get back to the task
of reflecting God's greatness
back to God;
indeed
we can get back to the task of being God.

So each human entity
is a combination
of the parts of Him,
but only a limited combination
because

each one of us is limited
in  the qualities we can hold
because we're holding our qualities
in physical containers,
and the physical
is not infinite.

So please read my entries on tikkun, Kabbalah, and Creation --
I can't explain again everything in them.

Anyway:
imagine this:

at the moment of creation
God broke the mirror,
or whatever the object was
that He intended to view himself in
because, shit,
that mirror had the task of
reflecting
infinity,
and,
well,
any created substance
does not match the power
of Everything.

So the mirror broke,
into bits and pieces
that got named at that moment
of creation;
humans are part of that
rubble,
and our task ever since then
has been:

to put it back together again;
to reproduce
the perfect
combination
of all the elements
and rejoin
God,
which is everything,
again.
This is a problem
and a challenge,
because
the inherent aspect
of all life
all creation
is that it is
individualized
specified
separate.

In fact,
we had to gain
a more specific
sense of our selves,
our specific identities
before we could
merge again
into being
God.

That's what the beauty of America
is.

One of my former husbands said
that America is nothing but
a great experiment
(oh, I know he's not the first to say it)
a great attempt to
ignore difference, but of course
that's proving to be impossible:

the biggest problem in America today
is that we just can't tolerate
difference.

But to be American,
following the original tenents
of America
is to be
tolerant,
forgiving,
respectful.

Anyway,
America was the first step
in the evolution of the collective mind
to combine the parts of the broken vessel
on a collective level.

But perhaps it was too early?
No, I think not --

At the beginning of time,
when God created Man,
he produced Avatars,

recognizing that the Avatars
cannot contain just one piece
of God,
because if the Avatars
contained just one piece
of God,
they would simply sustain the problem,
the problem being
that God was not Everything
as long as Part of Everything
was Us.

US

The United States of America --

That place where States -
geographical boundaries
retain an individual identity
when the real essence
of the founding fathers' documents
was Union.

If the United States of America
could realize that
it is one country
that is responsible for
all  of its citizens
no matter what
their race, religion,
color, or code,
then the United States of America
could

be the model for the rest of the World.
But the danger, is, this:
we can't do it while also retaining
our stubborn hold on believing
in the validity of the individual.

We literally have to lose
our Egos

and love one another

Now isn't that the craziest thing
you've ever heard in your life?

. . . . this is not the miracle.

The miracle is this:

if we suddenly,
by some
insane
balance of all the elements,
all our disparate parts
Fell In Love
with each other,
which means:
loving the black man
loving the white man
loving the Asian man
loving the Muslim man
loving the man who
loves the man;
loving
the woman who loves
the woman because she sees
the woman understands, in a way
that no man can understand
because the Man Is The Mirror

In every couple, we have the reproduction
of the two halves of God -- the women
gets the horrible task of being the more powerful
creative half,
the Man, oh the sad sad Man,
has to recognize that his task
is, well, functional:
the Man is the Mirror,
the object God produced
so God Could See God--Self.

But it gets more challenging still:
if you can acknowledge the premise
that each couple reenacts the creative impulse,
the moment of desire when God wanted to see
Herself

and if you acknowledge the idea that
the mirror broke
because it was not up to the job,
and WE are the pieces of the mirror
and OUR TASK is to use this earth
+
our earthly avatars
+
all the elements the earth gives us
in order to find
the perfect balance that brings us back to
God

well, hell, if you're still with me,
bless your heart,
If you can acknowledge all of that,
well, then you might see why
it is essential that all these avatars
(AKA: our bodies)
cannot just contain
(ie: channel)
one personality

To be more efficient,
the avatars
should contain at least three, maybe
even four
of the elements of God,
and if
within that avatar
those elements find a way
to have balance,
well,
then,
that avatar,
which we know as a human personality
would be said to have attained a level of self-awareness
that is genius:

genius is when, in fact, a human entity represents
a successful experiment
a successful combining
of the disparate parts
of the pieces of a mirror
that was intended to have the power
to mirror the Almighty.
If you take that the next step then,
what is Love?
Love is the capacity for one human being
who has found a sincere balance
between the elements he/she is channeling
to absolutely forgive, desire, and respect
another individual who has done the same.

Perfect Love
is when each individual is capable of looking beyond
terrific differences

anyway --
I am channeling at least three personalities,
and one of them is most definitely
Makropoulos --
at least one other
loves the idea of Makropoulos
and wants to play along,
and another does too
but she's the personality
who, to date, has always
been a Company Girl.
There might be
another one in there,
and I think she's a slut.

The thing is:
the other three are so
darned strong,
and

we're working so hard
at just getting
along.
