Who is Makropoulos?

Some people have know me as Emilia Marti, some Ellian MacGregor, some Eugenia Montez, others Elsa Muller or Ekaterina Myshkina. These were all the names given to me in that play by that Czech named Čapek. But my real name is Elina Makropoulos, born in Crete in 1585. I was used as a guinea pig for an eternal youth potion, and as a result, I have been burdened with living in a timeless state of beautiful youth.

Haven't aged yet; haven't died yet. Just keep living this life, and watching the generations go by.

About Me

Makropoulos: So perhaps I am not really over 400 years old. Perhaps I am a woman, born the same year as Madonna & Michael Jackson, whose name also begins with an "M" I have lived a life that surprises even me when I reflect on it, and sometimes when I talk about it to others, people just don't believe me. So I thought I would be more believable as a fictional character, and a flamboyant one, at that. And so Makropoulos was born. This blog is my performance of the thoughts and experiences of a life that treds delicately on the borders of reality and fiction. Pisi and Squeak are my cats. They talk to me regularly. Their blog, I hope, will be our comic relief!
